RollerCon Pass
RollerCon 2020 has been cancelled.
PASS TYPES
What pass should you get?
Check out our WHAT PASS SHOULD I GET? Grid!
PASS TYPES (in words, instead of check boxes on the grid above):
MVP Pass:
This is the “all access” pass. Skate everything! Only MVPs can go to on skates classes.
With the appropriate insurance validation and skill minimums, MVPs get entry into all on and off-skates events, plus access to the training camp on flat tracks, banked track and in the skate park. They get to skate at the open skate rink, social skates, in the skatepark, and compete or officiate in bouts, Challenges and open scrimmages. They have access to 24-hour pool with a room key and can go to every one of our private social events – everything. There are 2500 of these passes available, and in past years they sold out pretty quickly (about 36 hours in 2015). But here’s the good news: whenever someone cancels a pass and BPT refunds it, that pass becomes available the day their cancellation gets processed by BPT. Check at the BPT sales page above, which shows the ticket quantity available. Please DO NOT email us about it. There’s no way for us to know when BPT will process the cancellation.
Skater Pass.
This pass is for people who love to skate games, skate park and dance, but have no plans to take classes. Classes are NOT included.
This pass, with insurance validation and skill minimums, allows you to skate at the skatepark, in open skate sessions and social skates, play in scrimmages, challenges and bouts, and gets you entry into all the non-skating RollerCon events, including off-skates athletic training, seminars, swap meet, vendor village and every social event. The skater pass does NOT include entry into the on-skates training camp on the flat tracks, banked track or skate parks. These passes don’t always sell out, but they are a lot cheaper earlier in the season.
Off Skates Convention Pass.
If you aren’t skating this year, this might be the pass for you.
This gets you convention off-skates (including NSO & staff, if hired) access to most on-skates events, excluding on skates training, but including watching and off-skates staffing for bouts, scrimmages and challenges. This pass also gets you into off-skates training and classroom seminars, and social events. These passes are unlikely to sell out, but will also cost significantly more on site.
NEW IN 2019: Officials Pass.
Officials pass is for those officials who come to officiate games, and not really for other convention events.
An Officials Pass has similar privileges (and price) as an Off-Skates Convention Pass, except that on-skates Officials will, with insurance validation and safe skating skills, also be eligible to officiate at RollerCon on skates. The expectation is that people who purchase this discounted pass will officiate at RollerCon (and earn volunteer hours and other compensation). The Officials Pass will also give you non-skater access to many RollerCon events. In addition to on and off skates Officiating, the Officials pass holders can watch (not play) bouts, scrimmages and challenges, and attend off-skates seminars and social events. The Officials Pass excludes playing in bouts, scrimmages & challenges, excludes skating in Open Skates, Social Skates and the 187 Skate Park , and also excludes on-skates MVP training (including on skates officiating classes in the MVP area). In the years we offer a WFTDA Officiating Clinic add-on ticket, Officials Passholder can purchase the WFTDA Clinic Add-On pass to participate in WFTDA Officials Clinic curricula, on- and off-skates (during years that it is offered at RollerCon). Clinic add-on passes can also be added to MVP, Skater and Off-Skates Convention Passes (though the last option will not offer the privilege of skating at RollerCon at all). Officials who also play roller derby or plan to participate on skates in other convention events should consider other full-access pass types. This sounds complicated but it really isn’t. Please check the Pass Grid for a visual of what comes with the Officials Pass.
Children’s Pass. This gives your baby or child entry to some RollerCon events including audience seating for bouts and challenges and vendor village. Children may not attend on-skates training or 21+ events (like our PM social parties or after-hours pool). Junior skaters are welcome to attend RollerCon with an Off Skates Convention Pass. There are no skating events for juniors at RollerCon. Please note that RollerCon is a convention for adult athletes which (like the entire city of Las Vegas) frequently includes competitions and events featuring adult themes, violence, drinking, profanity and nudity. RollerCon is generally inappropriate for children. Parents who bring their children enter at their own risk and assume all risk for their children. Children must be actively supervised at all times. For insurance and safety reasons, we do not offer free passes or free entry for children or babies of any age.
Off Skates Day Pass. This might be the pass you get for friends & family that come to watch you skate. This pass has similar privileges (and price) as an Off-Skates Convention Pass. It gets you a day pass to convention events off-skates, (including NSO & staff, if hired) access to most on-skates events, excluding on skates training, but including bouts, scrimmages, challenges, off-skates seminars and social events for any day of RollerCon events. These passes are unlikely to sell out, but will also cost significantly more on site.
Volunteer Pass. Volunteers earn discounts and freebie versions of the same exact passes listed above, all at costs less than the very cheapest passes that the regular non-volunteers can buy. Their passes don’t sell out when the pass types do (though they must redeem them before the deadline we post each year). You can earn one for next year by volunteering for our RollerCon Army!
VENDOR PASS
Vendors get two or more free passes with each booth. We ask them to fill out a form that we email directly. If the pass is for a skater, we give them an MVP Vendor Pass. If they say they’re not skating, they get an Off-Skates Vendor Convention Pass. These passes have the same privileges listed above, except that they are a different color to indicate that the holder has after-hours access to vendor areas. Vendors who wish to purchase more passes can check a box during BPT purchase to indicate that they want the holder to have Vendor Access, or request an invoice from RC sponsorship.
ADD-ON Tickets
We sometimes have additional types of tickets you can purchase *in addition* to RollerCon Passes. These add-ons are avaiable for sale later in the season, depending on the ticket. Check the info pages linked below for more info:
- Bout Tickets We have assigned seating available for our most popular bouts. Find out more about which bouts feature advance seating, seating prices, ticket types and the charities who benefit from your ticket purchases at our Bouts page. All RollerCon passholders are eligible to purchase advanced seating.
- WFTDA Officials Clinic. RollerCon is proud to partner with WFTDA to host Officials Clinics add-on passes, available to add to any adult RollerCon pass. WFTDA Officials Clinics may not be hosted at RollerCon every year. Look for more information on our Officials Clinic event page.
Validated insurance is REQUIRED to skate at RollerCon. No exceptions! More Info.
ROLLERCON PASS POLICIES
PASS PRICES
Pass prices are posted before Black Friday and go up on the first of each month after they are released in November. Check the BPT link at the top of this page (after November) to see current prices.
EVERY EVENT REQUIRES A PASS
There was a time years ago when a person could attend RollerCon parties without a pass. That time has passed. ALL RollerCon events are in closed, convention-only spaces that require a RollerCon pass. Encourage your family and friends to get super cheap off skates passes in the Fall to see your games and come with you to parties!
NAMES & GOVERNMENT IDs
Your pass must have your name and it must match your Government-Issued ID. If it doesn’t, you will have to get a reprinted pass, which costs $35 and takes time to happen (especially if you’re checking in Tuesday or Wednesday, when the lines tend to be longer).
- To better serve trans members of our community, we are offering a “pre-verified ID” RollerCon badge upon request at Registration. If the name or personal identifying information on your ID does not match the identifying information you use in your daily life, you may request a pre-verified ID RollerCon badge which our door folks at the training and competition tracks will accept in lieu of checking that your badge matches your government ID. The law requires that staff checks your Gov. ID to gain access to 21+ events like Black and Blue Ball, Royal Shakedown, Riedell Party, etc, but you won’t need it at our all-ages convention events. Please email Bacon for information: rollerconcoordinator@gmail.com
SHIPPING / WILL CALL:
Passes will be mailed out to US attendees by Brown Paper Tickets IN JUNE. Registration Packets will be available at the RollerCon Registration area. Orders from outside the US will be available for pick-up at the WILL CALL desk at RollerCon.
TRANSFERS:
Tickets are non-transferable, which means you may not give your ticket to someone else. You will not be able to buy someone else’s pass, either. Every pass name must match holder’s government-issued ID and the insurance info given to us at purchase. Sorry, but we can make no exceptions to this rule.
UPGRADES:
Unfortunately, we cannot upgrade passes. You can purchase an upgraded pass then cancel the one you don’t want, though (by using the link below).
Update your INSURANCE NUMBER or DERBY NAME:
– Update your insurance number(s) on the form at the bottom of the Insurance page.
– Update your derby name or league on your RollerCon pass by emailing rollercon@brownpapertickets.
Please note that you may not change your gov’t name (especially not to someone else’s) or contact info.

INJURIES AT ROLLERCON
Injuries at RollerCon that result in the skater being referred out for further assessment or treatment may result in our EMT Manager holding the injured skater’s skating pass until they return with a Return to Play release from a qualified medical professional. If the skater is cleared to skate, their pass will be (happily) returned to them. If the injured skater is not cleared to skate, the EMT Manager will discuss ticket options with the skater. Please note that this only happens in extreme circumstances (generally when the skater leaves in an ambulance), and our first and most important priority is the skater’s safety. In spite of rumors to the contrary, minor injuries do not get anyone a free pass for future years.
